What this tool does
This tool reads a Word document and lays it out again as a PDF with real, selectable text. The PDF opens the same way on any phone, tablet or computer, which makes it the safe choice for sending CVs, assignments, letters and forms.
What is kept
Headings, paragraphs, bold, italic, underline, bulleted and numbered lists, tables, links, footnotes, pictures and page breaks are all carried over. The text is set in a clean, highly readable typeface that supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic alphabets.
Some Word layout is simplified: custom fonts and colours, text alignment, columns, text boxes, headers and footers. For documents that must match the original pixel for pixel, use Save as PDF in Word itself.
Older .doc files
This tool reads the modern .docx format used by Word since 2007, as well as by Google Docs, Pages and LibreOffice exports. If you have an older .doc file, open it and save it as .docx first.
Privacy
Your files never leave this device. The document is opened by your browser, the PDF is built in its memory, and the download comes straight from there. Nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Can I convert several documents at once?
Yes. Add as many .docx files as you like and each one becomes its own PDF.
Is the text in the PDF searchable?
Yes. The PDF contains real text, so you can search, select and copy it, and screen readers can read it aloud.
